CPT Andre Hernandez serves as the Assistant Professor of Military Science (APMS) at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). CPT Hernandez is an active duty officer in the United States Army with 16 years of service. As the APMS at IIT, CPT Hernandez is the primary instructor for first and second year ROTC Cadets.

CPT Hernandez was born in Park Ridge, Illinois and is a native of Elk Grove Village, Illinois where he graduated from Elk Grove High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master’s Degree in Diplomacy from Norwich University. CPT Hernandez received a commission in the Army thru Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia.

CPT Hernandez’ past military assignments include serving as a Company Commander of a basic combat training company at Fort Jackson, SC, Operations Officer for the 312th MI BN, BN S2 for 6-1 CAV, Executive Officer for C Co, 297th MI BN and Platoon Leader for D Co, 297th MI BN.
