Major Francis Koykar serves as the Executive Officer and the Assistant Professor of Military Science at the University of Illinois-Chicago. MAJ Koykar is an active duty officer in the United States Army with over 11 years of service. As the executive officer, he is the second in charge, and primary manager of the Battalion staff. As assistant professor of military science, MAJ Koykar is the primary instructor for the third year ROTC Cadets.
MAJ Koykar is a native of Lombard, IL where he graduated from Willowbrook High School. He earned his major in Political Science and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI.
MAJ Koykar’s past military assignments include serving as a Deployment Officer for the United States Army Forces Command at Fort Bragg, NC, where he managed the deployments of all Conventional Active, Reserve, and National Guard units from the Continental United States. He also served twice as Company Commander, and once as Operations Officer in the 25th Infantry Division, and as a Platoon Leader in the 10th Mountain Division.
