About

Captain Newport is an Army National Guard officer with over 9 years of service.  She is originally from Birmingham, Alabama.  Captain Newport earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Alabama A&M University, where she studied Biology and commissioned through the ROTC program as a 74A/Chemical Officer.  She started her military career with the Alabama National Guard in 2011 and stayed with the Alabama National Guard for 3 years before doing a Inter State Transfer to the Indiana Army National Guard; where she spent most of her military career developing herself into a strong officer.  Captain Newport recently transferred to the Illinois Army National Guard to take over the position the Assistant Professor of Military Science instructor for the MS2 Cadets and Illinois National Guard Liaison.

Captain Newport military assignments include 208th Chemical Company Platoon Leader, 38th Infantry Division CBRN Protection Cell Officer, Operation Enduring Freedom at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as the Joint Visitor Bureau Officer, 438th Chemical Company Commander, 19th CBRN Enhanced Response Force Package Battalion Operations and currently resides with the ILARNG JFHQ.
