SSG Washington


SSG Washington enlisted in the army in 2004 as a Human Resource Specialist. He attended basic training and advance individual training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

His first assignment was overseas in Honolulu, Hawaii where SSG Washington served with the 556 Personnel Service Battalion. I deployed with 25th ID to Tikrit, Iraq for 16 months in support of OIF 06-07. While there he served as Human Resources Sergeant in charge of Personnel Management, Promotions, and Casualty Operations Reporting.

Upon redeployment SSG Washington transitioned to the 8th Military Police Brigade where He served as Human Resources Sergeant in charge of Military Promotions, Awards, and Enlisted and Officer Records. 10 months after his 15 month deployment from Iraq, SSG Washington was redeploying to Basra, Iraq in support of OEF 08-09. While deployed he received a Battlefield Promotion to Staff Sergeant while serving as the Brigade Senior Human Resources Sergeant.

After Redeployment he was nominated to serve as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Us Army Pacific Command Sergeant Major. While serving in this position SSG Washington was responsible for Hosting, Managing, and Resourcing Key leader engagements with National and International Civilian and Military Leaders.

In 2011 he was selected and trained to become a Drill Sergeant in Fort Jackson, SC. As a Drill Sergeant SSG Washington Trained, Mentored, and Developed over 1,400 Soldiers over 7 Cycles.

His awards include Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Oversea Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Drill Sergeant Badge, and Meritorious Unit Citation.
