About

Captain William Andrew Shea began his career in the U.S. Army enrolled in ROTC at the Virginia Military Institute in August 2009. Upon completion at VMI with a bachelor’s degree in English and Writing Composition, he commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army on September 17, 2014. Upon completion of the Transportation Corps Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC), he was stationed in Camp Henry, Korea where he served as the Movement Control Officer and Platoon Leader for the 517th Movement Control Team, 25th Transportation Battalion.

In March 2016, he was assigned as the Transportation Platoon Leader in the 4th Brigade Support Battalion (BSB) at Fort Carson, Colorado. In November 2016, he served as the Company Executive Officer for the Delta Forward Support Company, 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT), 4th Infantry Division. In February 2018, he also served as the Support Operations Transportation Officer in the 4BSB. In October 2018, he attended the Logistics Captains Career Course at Fort Lee, Virginia. Following serving for a year as the Plans Officer for the BN S3 in the 498th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB), he was selected as the Company Commander for the 339th Quartermaster Company at Camp Humphreys, Korea. He has been serving as the 339th QM Commander since February 2020. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

CPT Shea has completed the following military courses: Transportation Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC) and Logistics Captains Career Course. He has also completed Lean Leader Course.

His awards include: two Army Commendation Medals, four Army Achievement Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon. In his time in 2-1 Cavalry Squadron, he was awarded Membership in the Order of the Spur and received silver spurs for completion of the Spur Ride.

He is married since April 6, 2019 and currently has no children.
